Aletha Hip Hook

The psoas (“so-as”) is one of the big wonders of our bodies. We often hear about it, and apparently, it gets “tight.” We can confirm that most people, whether office workers or professional athletes have some chronic tightness in their psoas muscles. 

This can be tied to overuse (like heavy training) and/or limited movement (like sitting all day). A tight psoas has a broad impact on the body as a whole and in various locations, which can impact how you function.

It’s the source of pain or dysfunction in other areas.

Why Aletha works:

Contrary to popular belief, stretching alone won’t fix a tight psoas. The Hip Hook eliminates tightness at the core of the hip flexor and quickly reduces strain in the legs, hips, and lower back. Its unique angle and pressure are built specifically to address the root cause of your pain, that pesky iliacus muscle.

The iliacus muscle connects to the pelvic bone and blends with the psoas, making up the hip flexor. A tight iliacus is directly linked to pain in the back, tailbone, hips, knees, feet, and toes. The problem is that the iliacus is prone to holding tension and has always been incredibly hard to target until now.

How to use it:

Laying down, you can place the “hook” adjacent to the top of your hip bone and will likely find the right spot. Typically, it’s just medial to the top of your hip. Manipulate the lever and your weight to target your iliacus and BOOM!
